Andrew Phelka is a nutrition and fitness consultant and private personal trainer who has worked full time improving the lives of his clients since finishing graduate school in the spring of 2002. Through public and private lectures, private training, coaching and nutrition counseling Andrew has worked passionately to positively impact the quality of life for those who have
experienced his work.
Andrew received his M.S. in Nutritional Science from the University of Michigan School of Public Health in April 2002. He earned his B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan in May of 1997. In between, he lived and worked as a volunteer high school teacher in Namibia, Africa through the U.S. Peace Corps. He has traveled, backpacked and hitchhiked through over 50 countries and been to all 50 of the United States (ask him about his ‘soil sample’ collection).
Andrew is an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer and advanced practitioner of Active Isolated Stretching (AIS). He is also certified as a Colgan Power Program Stage 1 Trainer and Precision Nutrition Coach.
Outside of work Andrew has competed in the Michigan’s Greatest Athlete overall athletic competition in Wixom, MI, finishing 2nd in 2003, 2004 and 2005. He was an avid track athlete in high school and is currently on a mission to break his PR in a 5K. He has trained with Olympic runner, college football players, bodybuilders, and hundreds of people ranging in age from 12-91 over the last 15 years.
Andrew is originally from Troy, Michigan but currently resides in Ann Arbor.
